Well, just like last year, it looks like the Christmas season starts early at Kmart. My local store has already started putting out their Christmas merchandise with a huge section of Christmas trees and Christmas collectibles. The 2011 Forever Fun Rudolph and Peanuts Christmas items were displayed front and center and ready for purchase. Here’s what I’ve found so far…
Peanuts 6-figure Christmas Pageant Nativity set for $24.99. These are the mini-figures. These are the exact same figures and accessories that we’ve seen for the past two years. Specifically, this is the same 6-figure set (without the 3 kings) that was only available at CVS last year.
Peanuts Christmas Clip-on figures for $5.99 each. These are individually boxed mini-figures with a chained clip attached to their head. There are 4 different ones: Charlie Brown holding an ornament, Linus holding the pathetic tree, Santa Snoopy holding a bell, and a relatively large Woodstock with antlers. These clip-on figures are the same individually boxed figures available exclusively at CVS last year. EXCEPT last year’s Santa Snoopy was in a chimney, while this year’s is NOT.
Peanuts Mid-Scale Poseable figures for $12.99 each. There were only two different figures here. Gee, guess which two. And the back of their boxes showed only the two figures, so Kmart must only be carrying Charlie Brown and Snoopy. Charlie Brown looks like the exact same 2011 Halloween mid-scale figure. He comes with the pathetic tree, but the ornament (that makes the tree droop) is not attached to the tree. Rather, it is a separate accessory that hooks onto the tree. There were no winter clothing accessories. Snoopy and Woodstock, however, were definitely different mid-scale figures than the Halloween ones, most noticeably with Snoopy’s ears and Woodstock’s feet. And Snoopy comes with his mid-scale snow-covered red doghouse. Also, both Charlie Brown and Snoopy each come with a set of mini “Flying Aces” game cards.
Rudolph 15-figure Ultimate PVC Figurine Collection for $39.99. Ultimate. Hardly. The 2010 set had 21 figures, and previous years have had 24 figures. Oh well, I guess everything is scaling back or scaling down somehow. At least there’s enough new figures and/or variations with previous figures to make this set worth getting. Just maybe not here. And the painting of the figures looks much better than last year’s set. However, in a few of the sets, it looks like Santa was tossed off his throne and is bouncing around somewhere inside.
Rudolph PVC figure ornaments for $4.99 each. These individually boxed ornaments are really just some of the PVC figures with a chain attached to the figures head or back. Now here’s where it gets interesting! Last year in 2010, Kmart had 4 individually boxed ornaments, only available individually at Kmart. However, TRU (and presumably everybody else) had the 9-piece ornament boxed set. This 9-piece set included all 4 of the Kmart ornaments plus 5 more. So, if you are a completist, you most likely got the 9-piece box set. Now this year for 2011, Kmart has 5 individually boxed ornaments. And again, the 2011 ornament boxed set (presumably available at TRU and elsewhere else) comes with 9-pieces. You can see the 9 ornaments for this year on many internet sites including this specific blog’s picture. The difference this year is that the 2011 9-piece boxed set only includes 4 out of the 5 Kmart ornaments. 1 of the 5 Kmart ornaments is not included in the boxed set.
Ornament-wise, Kmart has (1) Santa in his sleigh, (2) Bumble, (3) Young Buck Rudolph w/harness, (4) Hermie w/snowflake, and (5) classic Rudolph (standing on his hind legs pose). It’s this last Rudolph figure that’s not included in this year’s 9-piece ornament boxed set. So, if you collect the ornaments, there appears to be at least 10 total this year.
Confused yet? I can’t imagine what exclusives and variations that TRU, CVS, Meijer’s, Target, and any others will unveil to us in the coming weeks. Hopefully, this website will be updated with the what and where of this year’s Christmas items in a more timely manner this year. Hint, Hint.

Well, this was a surprise! One of my local CVS stores has already started putting out some of its Christmas merchandise with several shelves already full of Christmas collectibles. This is probably in response to the rapidly dwindling Halloween merchandise where the Halloween collectibles shelves are now about half-stocked. The only 2011 Forever Fun Christmas product that I found was…
Peanuts Christmas Clip-on figures for $4.99 each. Like the Kmart ones, these are the individually boxed mini-figures with a chained clip attached to their head. There are 6 different ones. And the best news is that these are all brand new clip-on variations, and NO repeats from previous years. And since I haven’t seen pictures of these anywhere, I assume that these are CVS exclusives. The figures are (1) Charlie Brown in his traditional yellow striped shirt wearing a Santa cap, (2) Snoopy in his dancing pose, ears up, on top of that yellow box of Christmas decorations (with his feet glued to the gingerbread man), (3) Linus in his traditional red striped shirt with a string of Christmas tree lights strung around him (no, the lights don’t light up), (4) a figure size Christmas tree with Woodstock as an ornament, (5) Lucy in a green dress holding across three gingerbread men, and the best one of all, (6) Sally in a red dress (yes, red dress) holding a teddy bear with a green bow. There were two display trays each holding 9 figures. However each tray only had three different figures. Like, all the Linus, Lucy, and Snoopy figures were in one tray, and all the Charlie Brown, Sally, and Woodstock figures were in the other tray. So look for two trays to find all the figures.

My local CVS stores have marked all the Halloween merchandise to 50% off, so now’s a good time to get some extra Halloween figures if you can find any left over. I found a couple of Charlie Brown’s and one Snoopy, but no Lucy or Linus anywhere. And the Christmas merchandise is now in full swing at CVS. In addition to the Peanuts clip-on figures I described above, here’s the other CVS 2011 Forever Fun Christmas product I’ve found:
Peanuts 6-figure Christmas Pageant Nativity set for $19.99. These are the 6 mini-figures (without the 3 kings). Again, these are the exact same figures and accessories that we’ve seen for the past two years, and also available this year at Kmart for $24.99.
Peanuts Mid-Scale Poseable figures in 2-figure Play Packs for $12.99 each. There were two different Play Packs. (1) Charlie Brown and Linus at the Christmas Tree Lot, and (2) Lucy and Snoopy Decorate the Doghouse. Both Play Packs come with a cardboard Fold-Out Display Backdrop that represents the specific background scene. Make sure you remove the tape before trying to open the already pre-folded backdrop or you’ll tear the backdrop before you get started. And READ the instructions sheet on exactly how to properly fold-out the backdrops. The Lucy/Snoopy one is trickier than it needs to be. Charlie Brown and Linus come with fabric winter coats and hats, and with the same pathetic tree and ornament that the individual Christmas mid-scale Charlie Brown figure comes with. Lucy and Snoopy do NOT come with any winter clothing accessories, which makes the whole scene odd to begin with. Why would Lucy be outside when it’s snowing out WITHOUT her winter coat and hat, over at Charlie Brown’s house, helping Snoopy decorate his doghouse? This Snoopy figure is a different figure than the individual Christmas mid-scale Snoopy figure. The doghouse is the same RED one as the one that comes with the individual figure. There is NO Woodstock figure, but there is a clear plastic stand for Snoopy to stand on (same as his Halloween one), and there is a string of Christmas tree lights (no, they don’t work) to put on the doghouse. This is the same string of lights that comes with clip-on Linus. And finally if you take the plastic tray out carefully from each box, the remaining inner cardboard floor/backing makes a cool display stage in its own right without even using the fold-out backdrop.
I believe that these poseable play packs are exclusive to CVS, even though they are not listed under exclusives on this website. I also did not find any BLUE doghouses, even though the picture on this website, and on the back of the play pack boxes shows a blue one. And since Snoopy’s doghouse is actually blue in “A Charlie Brown Christmas”, I was hoping there might be some variant versions. And THANKS for all the updates to this website. It’ll make this year’s Christmas shopping that much easier.

I found several Christmas figures here in Los Angles but haven’t found ANY Halloween figures. Were they even released this year? If so, does anyone have any extras?
The Peanuts x-mas sets seemed fine (packaging-wise) but the Rudolph sets again had some serious issues. In EVERY Rudolph set I saw at 2 Toys R Us stores there were missing parts (like Hermy with no hammer for example), missing paint on figures (several figures I saw had no paint on the eyes or other parts), damaged figures inside sealed packages (I saw one Hermy that seemed to have been stepped on, chipped and damaged), the PVC Santas seemed to come out of their chairs easily too and were rattling around in the box, and generally less than mint packaging (bent cardboard backer inside the boxes and some crushed boxes).

TRU has finally stocked their shelves with the 2011 Forever Fun Christmas merchandise in my area. If you plan on collecting all the new mid-scale poseable figures, I wouldn’t hesitate too long. The character allotment per case is NOT very equitable. Here’s what I’ve found so far:
Peanuts Mid-Scale Poseable figures (WITH accessories) for $9.99 each. All four figures are available: Charlie Brown with the pathetic tree and ornament, Snoopy with Woodstock and snow-covered doghouse, Lucy with toy train, and Linus with sled. Each figure comes with a unique set of mini “Flying Aces” game cards. There are 9 figures to a display tray: 4 Snoopy’s, 3 Charlie Brown’s, but only 1 Lucy, and only 1 Linus.
Peanuts Mid-Scale Poseable figures (WITHOUT accessories) for $6.99 each. All four figures are available: Charlie Brown, Snoopy with Woodstock, Lucy, and Linus. Each figure comes with the set of mini “Flying Aces” game cards, but no pathetic tree, no doghouse, no toy train, no sled. These figures are so GENERIC, they could be released for ANY occasion. There are 12 figures to a display tray: 4 Snoopy’s, 4 Charlie Brown’s, 2 Lucy’s, and 2 Linus’.
Peanuts Mini-figures for $2.99 each. There are five different figures: Charlie Brown, Lucy, Linus, Santa Snoopy, and Dancing Snoopy. If you missed these figures last year exclusively at Meijer’s, then you now have five out of the six figures from last year. You are only missing the Sally mini-figure. Again, out of a display tray of about 18-20 plastic bagged figures, there were only 2 Lucy and 2 Linus figures.
Peanuts 3 Mini-figure Christmas Pageant Nativity set for $14.99 each. There are only two sets this year: (1) Charlie Brown, Lucy, and Woodstock, and (2) Snoopy, Linus, and Sally. Same sets as last year, only this year there is NO 3 mini-figure set of the 3 kings (Schroeder, Pig-Pen, and Franklin).
Peanuts 9 Mini-figure Christmas Pageant Nativity set for $24.99 each. All 9 mini-figures are here, including the 3 kings. Same as last year. I didn’t see the 6 mini-figure set at any TRU like this website says.
Peanuts 9-piece Décor Blocks for $14.99 each. New this year spelling out HAPPY-H-O-L-I-D-A-Y-S. Five ornaments, Charlie Brown with Santa Cap, Snoopy with Wreath, Woodstock with Antlers, and the pathetic tree are on top of the blocks.
Peanuts Deluxe Snoopy Contest Winning Doghouse Display Playset for $24.99. Same set as last year’s Kmart exclusive, except this year’s version does NOT have the dogdish with the stack of bones accessory. This is the ONLY product that features an ORIGINAL size poseable figure. Sigh….
Peanuts Christmas Tree kit for $17.99. Includes five MICRO-figure ornaments of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, and Sally.
Peanuts Snoopy’s Holiday Express Train set for $49.99. New for Peanuts this year.
Rudolph Mid-Scale Poseable figures (WITH accessories) for $9.99 each. All four figures are available: Rudolph (with wreath) with snowscape display base, Hermey (with hat) with dentistry book and hammer, Sam the Snowman (with hat) with banjo, and casual Santa Claus with fabric red coat and hat and three Christmas presents. Each figure comes with a unique set of mini “On the Nose” game cards. There are 9 figures to a display tray: 4 Rudolph’s, 2 Hermey’s, 2 Santa’s, but only 1 Sam the Snowman.
Rudolph Mid-Scale Poseable figures (WITHOUT accessories) for $6.99 each. All four figures are available: Rudolph (with wreath), Hermey (with hat), Sam the Snowman (with hat), and casual Santa Claus. Each figure comes with the set of mini “On the Nose” game cards. Unlike their Peanuts counterparts, these figures still make great Christmas items. There are 12 figures to a display tray: 4 Rudolph’s, 3 Hermey’s, 3 Santa’s, and 2 Sam the Snowman.
Rudolph Mini PVC figures for $2.99 each. There are five different figures: Standard Rudolph, Young Buck Rudolph, Hermey in green outfit with snowflake, Santa Claus (in red coat and hat), and Bumble with star ornament. Only Hermey and Bumble are in this year’s Ultimate PVC Figurine Collection. The others were in previous years’ sets. Again, out of a display tray of about 18-20 plastic bagged figures, there were only 2 Hermey and 2 Santa figures.
Rudolph Scenic Display Sets for $14.99 each. There are two sets this year: (1) Santa on Misfit Island with PVC figures of Santa (with Sleigh and Bag of Toys), Young Buck Rudolph w/harness, Charlie-in-the-Box, and Mini PVC figures of Misfit Doll, Plane, and Elephant; and (2) Bumble’s Cave with a large PVC figure of Bumble and MICRO-figures of Rudolph, Hermey, and Yukon. Both sets include a fold-out panoramic backdrop.
Rudolph 9 PVC Ornament set for $19.99 each. 5 of the ornaments are unique to this set: Outdoors Casual Santa, Boy Elf, Girl Elf, Baby Rudolph, and Christmas Tree. The other four ornaments are available individually exclusively at Kmart. In addition Kmart has a 5th individual ornament of Rudolph that is NOT included in this set. See my description for Kmart items above. That makes a total of 10 Rudolph ornaments for this year.
Rudolph Santa’s Musical Sleigh set for $29.99 each. Same set as last year. PVC figures of Santa, Sleigh, 6 Reindeer, Rudolph, Bag of toys. Mounts to a flying rig display arm and plays the song “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer”.
Rudolph 15-figure Ultimate PVC Figurine Collection for $34.99. Same set as this year’s Kmart set described above.
Rudolph Christmas Tree kit for $17.99. New this year. Includes 4 MICRO-figure ornaments of Rudolph, Hermey, Yukon, and Bumble.
Rudolph Christmas Town Express Train set for $49.99. I only saw the standard version of this set.
Whew! Happy shopping!

i’m looking for info on the CVS Misfit Toys/Rudolph series from 1999 made by Stuffins. I have a 25″ Yukon Cornelius and would like to fill in the set of the stuffed animals. Can anyone helpo with what size the rest of the pieces were to correlate with my Yukon?
January 17th, 2012 at 10:27 pm
bpcscrose, in response to your question, CVS had 25″ stuffed toys that year of Yukon, Hermey, Santa, and Bumbles. Oddly, there was no Rudolph in the 25″ size. They also had a full series (about a dozen) of 12″ stuffed toys (these are the rare ones, especially the Spotted Elephant, Misfit Train, and others), and the 6″ versions.
