Forever Fun: Forever Has To Start Somewhere

Round 2 and its various brands finally enter the 21st Century (gosh – that sounds so futuristic) with the launch of our brand-spankin’ new blogs. Welcome to the very first Forever Fun blog, where we, the FF creative team of Terri, Jamie and Bob (and perhaps an occasional guest star or two) will endeavor to provide a more casual, behind-the-scenes look at the creation of product based on some favorite classic holiday characters, namely Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Peanuts and Frosty the Snowman!

We’ve been producing poseable holiday figures, mini figures, playsets and more based on these classic properties for the last several years. Prior to that, the previous incarnation of the company, Playing Mantis, handled the product, with much of the same creative team involved. So – we think the brand is in good hands.

Hopefully, our blog entries will be informative, insightful and fun. No boring blogging, bland blogging or soggy blogging allowed. After all, with a brand name like “Forever Fun,” we’ve got a lot to live up to.

    Hello.

I am very happy to find this blog. Congratulations on it and on all of the great work the company–and its former incarnation–has done in the past.

I’m otherwise opening with a complaint, because isn’t that just human nature… Though I understand that it is a common practice, I find it extremely frustrating that long time and comprehensive collectors are forced to purchase sets containing mostly (or any) already purchased figures to obtain new ones. While I understand that you need sales to remain in business and producing these great pieces, the buyers have their own financial issues, and I wish some consideration would be given to this matter.

That noted, up until the past two years I’ve bought every single Christmas figure that the companies have produced. Recently, ever so slight variations on old designs and subjects that aren’t from original series (either with respect to later Frosty specials which are of no interest or characters or variations of characters that do no appear at all in original specials (Peanuts’ Franklin, Woodstock, this year’s Sally with wings) have limited my purchases.

While very aware of licensing and financial issues on the company’s end, for whatever it might be worth, I would love to see..

    collectible lines:
the unproduced and in some cases unnamed pageant characters from “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and correctly positioned skating figures (and pond setting)
    the polar bears from” Rudolph…”
the remaining characters and an actual sculpted manger from “The Little Drummer Boy”
all characters from the original “Frosty…”
ice door and properly positioned characters from “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” to recreate the “Put One Foot…” scene
characters from “A Muppet Family Christmas,” “Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” and even just a few from “Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol,” and “Ziggy’s Gift”
scenic elements such as a “ACBC” tree lot, pageant stage, and (as above), “skating pond”

    action lines:
the unproduced and in some cases unnamed pageant characters from “A Charlie Brown Christmas”
the mother polar bear from” Rudolph…”
    “TLDB” complete line
all characters from the original “Frosty…”
characters from “A Muppet Family Christmas,” “Dr. Seuss’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” and even just a few from “Mr. Magoo’s Christmas Carol,” and “Ziggy’s Gift”
more characters and variations from “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town”, especially an improved Winter
more scenic elements, particularly a large grouping of trees for “Rudolph…”

Thank you for offering the forum for comments.
    Brett

Everyone in product development at Round 2 agrees with you! And, your understanding of license and financial issues is “on the money“. We are happy to have this forum as well. We really appreciate the feedback, especially from people who love the product.
