Terri - Thanks for the reply. I don't mean to be harsh on you guys at all. I just wish things could be different. (I know it's the retailers) I don't mind reissues and variants but a few new items make it more fun and something to look even more forward to. Last year with the rest of the Misfit Toys finally being added really made it for me with Rudoph but Drummer Boy was the thing that got me the most excited. I'm so glad we have something new to look forward to for 2011!! This year is a real let down. (No offense.) Could you please reissue the clip on set as possables? That has yet to happen and sine you've done the Nativity version, why not a version in their outfits from the show (which there are already toolings for)?

Is there any progress on Classic Frosty at all? That's something we all want to see. Can't you at least add the Traffic Cop to the existing line since he's in the song and when CVS made him he came from Frosty's Winter Wonderland, not Frosty the Snowman. Many of us want to see hat dancing Frosty get made as well so we can finally have the North Pole sign for our displays. That's an accessory everyone needs.

I agree with Vader. I'd like to know what might have been too. I still hold out some hope for unmade items while you're still around. I may be wrong but I believe you'll try to bring back the good ideas until they get made.

Backdrops are a great idea as long as they're plastic so they'll last. I suggested to Bob a few years ago that you should have bases come with the Rudolph characters that interlock to create the Island of Misfit Toys.

I also wouldn't mind spending extra money on new characters just so they get released.

Will Macie and Patti get added to Easter since they were in that special a lot? Marcie has only been released once and a lot of us missed her. It would be great to have her in our collections too.

CVS charges a bit too much for some of your items. The Woodstock Easter figure from a few years back was way overpriced for what was only a PVC. I know a lot of others expressed the same thoughts.

Vader - There were no Peanuts backdrops as far as I know. There were only accessories but big ones and some playsets.

Terri : I'm not going to speak for everyone on these boards but for me personally I wouldn't mind spending extra money if it meant we would see newest stuff in the mix. I know for me it's frustrating because to see the same figures year after year . I know it equally frustrating for you guys at Forever Fun as well. As I stated how many Charlie Brown . Lucy , Linus in the same basic outfits.

I also would love to know what you guys have proposed just to see what could be . I love the idea of the back ground with different scenes would be nice . I think someone mentioned in one of the boards a propose tree lot . Perhaps a back drop of that would be nice . I would still look to see a mockup of the Harvest design if it even went that far . And as a matter of fact love to when you redo the boards perhaps a section on proposed ideas .

Again I think people are frustrated more at the companies like CVS then Forever Fun. After all you can only propose items . I'm now intrigued by what Forever Fun has in store for 2011... Jim

PS Pigpen would of been funny :)

I’m glad you’re intrigued with having backdrops offered. It’s a gimmick we are using to fill out the accessories and enhance displays. Obviously, this addition keeps in line with our lean tooling budgets! That exclamation is meant to accent our excuse (and frustration) for not executing the many new and fresh ideas that are possible with licenses that have such breadth and depth as Peanuts and Rudolph. We are also faced with the realities of short production runs, which necessitates fewer figures to each assortment. Our retailers who want to see only the ‘strongest’ characters in the assortments amplify the problems we face at Round2.

In spite of the challenges, we fight to keep the lines as fresh as possible. We’ve just completed our 2011 sales meeting and are moving forward with our Forever Fun plans. Some of them will remain a secret for now. One of the returning items will be the Peanuts poseable play packs that feature the Christmas play. In the assortment of two, Charlie, Lucy and Woodstock in the manger return and the three kings will be added, featuring Pigpen, Franklin and a new standing Schroeder.

I hesitate to share plans because I want to spare you the anguish of having them fall off the list when retailers don’t pick them up. We proposed ‘harvest’ poseables to CVS a couple years back complete with pilgrim accessories sculpted for Snoopy and Woodstock. Sometimes we get so close you almost think it will happen. For 2011 Easter, we had Pigpen in the assortment with colored egg dye smudges on his face and hands. They loved it but we couldn’t get our price even close to where CVS wanted it.

We think we’ve found a solution for this dilemma. Maybe we’ll feel comfortable enough to let it leak out sometime, soon. ….

Ed we probably are big fans . I know I am of the Peanuts stuff. I think it would be cool to have the backdrops espically for Halloween and Christmas. I have to look if the playing Mantis Good Olde Charlie Brown came with back drops?

Not sure if we would ever see Thanksgiving would rather be nice. I'm not sure but I thought on one of the boards here it waas mentioned that Franklin wasn't added again to kind keep him as a collectible figure. Terri or some one from Forever Fun could shed light on that .

I would also love to see Shroeder also standing up as well. Terri when will the picture be updated ? I hope you can share with the collector frustration with no new characters added kinda makes it hard to buy .

I have a suggestion for the new site. Is there anyway you could post the backgrounds from the inserts found in some of he boxsets over the years so we could print them out and make a backgrond for our displays? Some of those were really nice bt because of the packaging holes and tape they couldn't be used for display. Since it probably doesn't make sense to sell a display when retailers wont even carry figures how about making it a download for the collectors?

By the ay, Vader. I bet you and I are probably the biggest fans/customers they have. I probably have you beat buying at least 3 of everything since 2000 (I bet I've put a few employee's kids through college by now. Ha ha.) but I just love these characters and to get them in figure form is great. I wish Rankin/Bass recieved credit on the box like Schultz but the figures are great and I just wantto keep seing them do more. My display room is not yet full. ;)

I like the play packs idea but I don't think we'll see that. I think you're right on the reissues. I should do a count of how many variants of each Peanuts character I now have over all the lines. I must have 25 or 30 Charlie Browns alone. It would just be nice to get some of the other supporting characters every so often and even a standing Shroeder. I loved getting Franklin last year but he must not have done well since he's not returning. Getting Patti in the Great Pumpkin line the year before was great too.

Freida and Pig Pen were in Wave 2 of the Great Pumpkin. Believe me, I know. I've been compiling the history of holiday figures for my website for about a month. It's the Christmas stuff of 2002 and 2003 I can'tr keep straight since so many companies were making so much of it and it all blends together now.

Hmmm. If they could get CVS and Walgreens to support a larger line up than 4 figures maybe Great Pumpkin and Thanksgiving could be combined at the same release date or series? The Great Pumpkin sales should support the lesser known Thanksgiving (even though it still airs every year.) I also believe the Thanksgiving show won an Emmy but I may be wrong. That table as the building feature instead of the bases was a great idea. But even if they just redressed the gang as Pilgrims that would be cool. Can you imagine a Snoopy Pilgrim just like he appeared in the show?I keep hoping they release the big WWI Flying Ace. That's Snoopy's most popular alter ego so I would think it would sell. I just hink the retailers are stupid for not knowing how to sell stuff (I.E. poor distribution) or thinking we wont buy other characters than a core group. I miss the days when Playing Mantis released 6 new figures a wave, at least 2 deluxe figures, and multiple playsets. That certainly was the golden age. We could have got at least another Frosty character that way since there are only 5 carded. It would be great to get a 2 pack of the kids or the Andy Griffith Narrator then move on to the original Frosty. I hope WB buys Classic Media. Then we might finally get to see classic Frosty.

It can't be too early to know about the oher holidays at CVS. The Easter Beagle I traded for was dated from October on his foot so they should know what CVS will carry right now.

Ed: Here is the Peanuts site you sent me.
http://photos.figures.com/showgallery.php?cat=2277

I would love to see the reissue of the orginal figures from the Halloween line with figures that weren't made. I think if they did the Playpacks with two figures plus the piece to make the Great Pumpkin figure it would be at a selling point if a larger chain ( ie TRU . Target ) pick them up. Unless they start doing Mini sets

I think the reality is that we are going to get the same figures ( perhaps dressed in diffrent costumes) until the line ends . I figures we will comtinue to see a CB, Lucy, Linus , Snoppy and rotating Sally. When the line came out they had Freida . Would be nice to have Marcie and Violet.

As far as Thanksgiving I think they could put them out along with the Halloween stuff. I have gone into a few CVS and Walgreens and they already have out Harvest stuff ( Thanksgiving) so it is possible,

On a diffrent note we know that CVS will be carrying the Halloween only . What about Christmas ? I guess it too soon to ask but Will be be seeing Valentine and Easter ?

One other thought. What if next year Linus dresses up as the Great Pumpkin? That fits who he is to a T. He could wear all of the things I described above but have a Jack O'Lantern mask as well. It would be perfect. :D

Hey Vader, can you post that link I emailed you? Maybe some others would like to see Shermie andViolet and the other characters we still haven't got. I keep hoping this stuff gets released but I'm losing hope. I can't believe no one took that box set scene with Linus, Sally, and Snoopy from the Great Pumpkin. That's the main scene of the whole show. The same for the Linus stage where he reads from Luke. That's the center of that show for most people. Hallmark even based an ornament on it; a very popular ornament I might add. Yet Toys R Us and others don't want it. It's baffling. I also can't figure out why CVS carried 3 reissued Peanuts figures for Christmas that warmed the shelves till Valentines Day but for Easter and Halloween and the rest that are actually new they don't go to all the stores. When you call as many stores as you can find around 3 major American cities and not one has this stuff something is wrong.

I miss the box sets too. It made life easier in finding the figures and the Play Packs are like that somewhat. But today the prices have inflated to where a box set is probably no longer worth Forever Fun to do. A 3 pack retaled at 20.00 when Charlie Brown debuted but back then a figure was around 6.00 each. Today the same figures with less accessories are 10.00. When Rudolph debuted 11 years ago Sam Goody stoes sold those exclusive 3 packs at 17.99. When they returned the following year they were 20.00 at most stores with Kohl's running sales. Rudolph figures back then were 5.99 each, today they are 9.99 too. Box sets don't seem to be a possibility anymore beyond the play packs.

At this point I doubt a Thanksgiving line would happen. When do they sell it? Halloween debuts at the end of August, Christmas comes in October. Is anyone really thinking about Thanksgiving in September? I'd love to have bought them but I can see why they have never been done. I think Valentine's Day is possible but for some reasn CVS doesn't. Target and many stores sell TONS of Valentines Day toys (most goes unsold) so I'm surprised they balk at Charlie Brown Valentines Day figures when these are well known characters and not generic ons.

Here's an idea for you guys. Why not reissue the Great Pumpkin figures with the unreleased Marcie and Violet with the build a figure gimmick? What figure could we build? Why, the Great Pumpkin himself! That would be fantastic! You could even use toolings you already have. Linus' light up Pumpkin could be the head, give him Lucy's witch hat, Linus' body, and Lucy's party shirt sheet. That would make for a unique and interesting figure and people would HAVE To buy the figures CVS and other retailers think we don't want if they want to complete the Great Pumpkin.

Hey Vader, can you post that link I emailed you? Maybe some others would like to see Shermie andViolet and the other characters we still haven’t got. I keep hoping this stuff gets released but I’m losing hope. I can’t believe no one took that box set scene with Linus, Sally, and Snoopy from the Great Pumpkin. That’s the main scene of the whole show. The same for the Linus stage where he reads from Luke. That’s the center of that show for most people. Hallmark even based an ornament on it; a very popular ornament I might add. Yet Toys R Us and others don’t want it. It’s baffling. I also can’t figure out why CVS carried 3 reissued Peanuts figures for Christmas that warmed the shelves till Valentines Day but for Easter and Halloween and the rest that are actually new they don’t go to all the stores. When you call as many stores as you can find around 3 major American cities and not one has this stuff something is wrong.
